Mativision partner in a £9m 5G Manufacturing Project in the UK
Mativision is one of the partners in a £9m 5G Manufacturing Project in the UK that will deliver a private 5G network at the National Composites Centre (NCC). The 5G-ENCODE project led by Zeetta Networks, is one of 9 Projects that will be funded by DCMS in what is the UK government’s biggest investment in 5G for manufacturing to date.
The project will investigate three key industrial 5G use cases, to improve productivity and effectiveness of composite design and manufacture. Mativision will be involved in the first use case, aiming to improve training and maintenance in composite manufacture using interactive augmented reality (AR). Mativision was selected as a partner in the 5G-ENCODE on the strength of its world-class experience, technology and skillset in immersive applications (AR/VR/XR) as well as its prior successful work in combining the company’s proprietary immersive content delivery platform with 5G Networks.
The 5G-ENCODE project will start in February 2020 and will run until March 2022.
