Mativision in INITIATE Project

INITIATE is a programme that combines UK research capabilities and innovation communities to provide specialist distributed testbeds to facilitate the increasingly large and complex experimentation required for future networks research. Digital Catapult’s 5G testbed in London is part of INITIATE.

 

Mativision team contributes in one of the usecases, that aims to provide 360° stereoscopic live feed.

Mativision plans to Install one of Mativision’s Capture & Live Streaming set-up in UoB’s Smart Internet Lab (Bristol) and offer a High-quality full Stereoscopic interactive viewing with Mativision’s Interactive/ Immersive Player to the audience in the Digital Catapult offices in London. The project will undergo a series of trial tests and will have a final showcase in March.

 

In specific, on the 16th of March, 2020, Digital Catapult will host the 4th INITIATE workshop, providing SMEs with a unique opportunity to explore how future internet technologies can enable their business, and allow the development of new products and services.

The workshop will focus on how SMEs can collaborate with the specialist INITIATE distributed test-bed to facilitate the increasingly large and complex experimentation required for future Internet research.

SMEs are invited to join academic experts from the state-of-the-art operational laboratories at the Universities of Bristol, Lancaster, Edinburgh and Kings College London.
